Shelled off Calais. Returned to
Dover.

Left Ramsgate in company with 5 other
Oropesa trawlers of the Dover n/s
Command under the command of the tr.
Fyldea (q.v.)

Arrived off the entrance of Dunkirk
harbour.
Entered in company with tr. Fyldea
and towed the P/V Lochgarry away from

the quayside. The Arley moored
alongside the east pier, astern of
the tr. Fyldea; the trs. John
Cattling and Calvi then berthed out-
side the Arley - Calvi being the
outside ship (see Fyldea).
1530ca
Air attack. Bombs dropped either side
of the east pier.
1630ca
Several air attacks followed at short
intervals. During one of these tr.
Polly Johnson, was damaged.
1830ca
The dr. Grenade was hit and also the
Calvi. Both ships soon commenced
settling down. The John Cattling was
now fouled by the Calvi settling
alongside her. Arley therefore towed
her astern, clear of the Calvi.
Arley then went alongside the pier
again and embarked troops.
1815ca
Arley proceeded out of harbour.

Closed the tr. Polly Johnson which was
leaking badly. Between Nieuport and
Middelkerke buoys, transferred
Polly Johnson's crew and troops to
Arley; fired 2 rounds of common
shell at Polly Johnson's waterline and
proceeded for Dover.

Arrived Dover. Disembarked 90 troops.
