These are vessels recorded as having some association or possible involvement with Operation Dynamo. This is not a definitive list of participating ships, and inclusion does not establish that a vessel reached Dunkirk, evacuated personnel or otherwise took part. A source record may exist because a claim was investigated, qualified or rejected; for example, an Orde entry may expressly state that the vessel did not participate. Cross-collection links and record counts should be treated as candidate matches rather than confirmed vessel identities. Matching may involve case and punctuation normalisation, partial-name or OCR text matches, aliases and associated metadata. A Roman-numeral suffix such as I, II, III, IV or V may be omitted, separated or mistranscribed, causing a base name to match a different numbered vessel. With multi-word names, a candidate may also be returned because only one distinctive word matched. Verify the complete name and numeral against vessel type, dimensions, builder, ownership, dates and the underlying source before merging or relying on records.

Dear Sir,
We thank you for your T.M. 6213/40/STA6 of 15th
inst. acknowledging receipt of the report from the Master of
our S.S. "CLEWBAY" on the part which that vessel played in the
Dunkirk evacuation.
We have just discovered a mistake towards the
end of that report at 2 a.m. 29/8/40. This should read 29th
May, 1940. The vessel commenced discharging at 8 a.m. 30th May
and finished discharging 31st May instead of August.

When I arrived in Dunkerque Roads there were a large
number of other vessels in the vicinity, both large and small.
There was some confusion owing to the heavy bombardment
from the shore and the activity of hostile aircraft.
Just after 11 p.m. I heard the sound of a heavy
collision close to my vessel.

At 12 midnight, high water, I steamed between the piers
to carry out my orders, but no sooner had I got between the piers
and attempting to make fast. when two bombs exploded in the channel
astern of me. One was very close as the rebound of the sea from the
explosion came right over our quarter deck. I remained there for
about 15 minutes thinking still to make a landing and try and connect
with the British Naval authorities, but just as I got alongside the
