- Dover B.W. remaining until 1530 when orders were
received to proceed Dunkirk.
1544.
Anchor aweigh and proceeded Dunkirk (N.about passage)
arriving in borth at 1855. During entry and berthing in
Port, continual bombing was experienced, and later
intermittent bombing and shelling during the stay in
harbour. The vessel was shifted under main steam to opposite quay,
but finding no casualties to enbark, returned to one
borth ahoad of original berth. During these movements
four bombs were dropped close ahead of vessel in middle
of harbour. Considerable time was lost during these
manouvers owing to underwater wrocks in vicinity of
berths. Damage to bottom (if any) unknown.
The loading of casualties was resumed at 1945,all mombers
of crew assisting in the embarkation.. Owing to darkness
out of habbour with several obstructions in the channel to 2
setting in, falling tide, and the vessel having to be backed
it was decided after consultation with the S.T.O.
embarkation at 2145. This was done ,and the vessel
proceeded cease out of harbour and thence to Dover for orders.

planes overhead. Ship was completely darkened no
navigation lights were used.
Orders wore received at Dover to proceed to Newhaven -
arriving there 0714.
June 2/40. At Newhaven under immodiate orders.
June 3rd /40.
1437. Left Newhaven for Dover for orders.
1854. Off Dover ordered to Downs to Anchor.
1932. Anchored.
June 4/40. Anchored at Downs.
June 5/40.
1400. Received orders to return to Newhaven.
