A note about image and OCR quality

Every reasonable effort has been made to present these document images as flat, straight and accurately cropped as possible. This man was employed on equipping various small craft for the recent evacuation of our forces from Flanders, and realising the intention of these preparations, volunteered to serve in one of the vessels in order that he might be available to make temporary repairs in the event of enemy action. 2. I submitted his request to the Commander-in-Chief's Staff by telephone and arrangements were made to send him in first boat sailing. 3. Greenwood made all his own arrangements, providing the necessary equipment for effecting small repairs and reporting to the Commander-in-Chief's Office as ordered. Greenwood proceeded to the coast of France in the yacht 4. From an interview on his return I understand "Encore" and was able to repair at least one boat and to assist in the rescue of several of the Expeditionary "Robert Force. During operations he was transferred to the Drifter Clive" and eventually was landed from her in Ramsgate. 5. and that he was sent on this operation entirely to Observing that Shipwright Greenwood is a Pensioner instigation, I am submitting this report of you, at in his case own it should be desired to show him some form recognition for his services on this occasion.
