It was perhaps fortunate that Vice Admiral, Dover shortly after this put the ship at longer notice and gave them a nights rest. The spirit of the ship's company the next day was immensely improved.

Throughout the period they continually went to the sea above their waists to get the boats through surf, a were ready day and night to get on with the work - Under ell-fire and bombs they remained calm and cheerful, and re ready for any job.
