I have the honour to submit a brief report of events mainly upiled from H.M.S. "Malcolm's" deak and signal 103.
The days went by 30 quickly and one was so intent on one's
11 small section of the job In hand that I find it difficult to nember a great deal of what occurred, or to do Justice to the od work of other ships working nearby.
After the period from 0200 to 1800 on 89th May during ich "Malcolm" was largely concerned with trying to distribute stroyers and boats to the best advantage between various beaches d Dunkirk Pier, the ship ren almost solely as a ferry between nktrk Eastern Pier and Dover.
In this connection I feel It should be pointed out how ch harder it must have been for the Commanding Officers of ivate destroyers than for of ship with a Captain (D) staff.

I was very little concerned with the work on the beaches

These ships were handled with dill and a coolness under shell fire and bombing which would be spooted from His Majesty's Ships but which is an snormous credit their maters and crews.

1422 slipped from North Western Well Ports.
2010 Spoke Dover. Ordered to proceed to beaches
East of Dunkirk by route Y with H.M.S. "Express",
H.M.S. "Esk", H.M.S. "Shikart" and H.V.S.
"Scimitar" in company.
dneaday, 29th
0215 Anchored off No.8 S. Zuydootte buoy. Sent in one whaler in tow of "Express's" motor boat,
Sub-Lieutemant Brooke-Alder, R.N.R. in charge, with orders to investigate and consience embarking soldiers If a concentration had been found.
0245 Sent in second shaler in tow of another ship's motor boat. Put Lieutenant Nelson, R.N.V.E.
in charge with similar orders.
0630 Closed abandoued shore motor boat, which we repaired. Sent First Lisutenant in shore to beach a schuyt for use as a pier for boats embarking soldiers on shore.
0945 "Shikari" came alongside bringing First Lieutenant and N.R.A. from shore motor boat which broke down completely and had to be abandoned.

In accordance with orders from Commander-in-Chief,
CORDA", (Ex Dutch Skoot) at Poole, P.N. Friday 24th May, 1940, In sailing for Portsmouth at 1600 arriving at 2130. tide being carried.
"SURSUM_CORDA" remained in company with other Skoots under the orders of Lieutenant Commander Stuart in H.M.S
"PREDANJA" until P.M. 28th May, 1940, when ship was sailed for
Dunkirk from Dover at 1400 by order of Vice Admiral Dover, for the evacuation of troops via North Goodwin and Middle Kirke.
On arrival off beaches at Dunkirk at approximately the
2230, decided to enter harbour traight away having sighted large number of soldiers on mole, but apparently no other ships in the harbour though & transport and other skoots were lying
