steamed along the beach to the Enstward of the Harbour, and anchored as near to the beach as I could. I gave orders for the port boat to be lowered and three hand rowed into the shore with instructions to fill up a motor launch and fetch the troops back to us. After being ashore for an hour trying to get a motor launch and failing, they brought back a boat load of troops. During this time TO were under heavy attacks from the enemy in the form of bombing, machine gunning and artillery fire. Sent boat ashore again with three fresh hands and proceeded to load a notor boat with troops, another air raid taking place in which four bombs were dropped quite close to us and lifted boat out of water, luckily nobody was hurt but the boat was useless having opened all her was $old that the tide was just right for beaching. I got underweigh and steamed head first for the beach. After beaching I
ordered the starboard boat any for troops. Seeing a motor pleasure craft quite handy filling up with troops my mate sent a line to him and we have him alongaide and took off the troops.

REPORT OF MASTER.
On the night of 29th May, 1940, the above vessel was orddred to Dover for orders.
We left for Dover at 3.50 came of 30th May, arriving after an uneventful trip at 6.40 Dalla Orders were received to proceed to Ramsgate, which was reached at 9.20 p.m. All sorts and sizes of vessels were anchored there, presenting a wonderful sight.
