On the 28th May I left Kingston with the "TIGRIS 1" for
Sheerness with instructions that we were to pick up a Pilot at
Gravesend. There was no Pilot at Gravesend and we were told to proceed to Sheerness where we were asked if we would sign on for onemonth, which we did.

We left Sheerness at 2.30 the following day for Ramsgate arriving there about 11 o'clock. We were still without a Pilot having one naval Officer and two ratings.
30/5 At 2.30 the following morning we had orders to proceed to
Dunkirk. We still had no Pilot but were told to follow a pilot boat, which lod. Owing to the engine of the pilot boat breaking down we were asked to tow her but we found that our boat was not
Ted powerful enough for towing as the sea was very rough. We had to e
leave the pilot boat and were told to steer for the burning flames at Dunkirk which would take us about two hours.

We arrived at Dunkirk but found we could not get in close enough to get the troops off the sands so we got the "LANSDOWN" to go in and we pulled her off ground after the troops were aboard. We also used the "PRINCESS LILY". We were told to proceed to
La Panna which is about nine miles further round the coast.
Owing to the engines failing we had to leave with only a few troops

and proceeded back to Dunkirk W here we took five more loads off the shore which we were now able to do owing to the rising tide.

2. Matters arising were discussed.

Agreed to maintain committee's attitude unless owner produces evidence of loss or value.
(c) "Vanitee"
Agreed to offer £700 which is sum stated by owner on T619 to be acceptable.
