DUNKIRK COMMITTEE
Meeting held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday 7th August, 1940
at the Ministry of Shipping, Room 8021A.
Present: Mr. Allen (Chairman)

1. Minutes of Meeting held on 31st July were agreed.
2. Matters arising were discussed.
(a) "Britannic": New evidence was considered and it was agreed to offer the owner (Mr. Budd) £375 in full and final settlement of all his claims.
(b) "Pote": Agreed to make a formal offer of £1,350 in full and final settlement.
(c) "Count Dracula": Agreed to offer £250 in full and final settlement of all claims of the owner, leaving him to liquidate any outstanding charges arising from any delay in arriving at a settlement.
(a) "Viewfinder": Agreed to approach the owner and arrange settlement up to £950.
(e) "Beverley": Agreed to offer £500 in full and final settlement of all claims.
(f) "Elvin": Agreed to pay for wages as claimed plus
2½% agency fee.
3. Report of Payments for week ended 6th August amounting to
£3,116.17.4₫. was presented and passed.
4. The following cases were discussed:-
(a) Total Loss:
"Little Ann": Agreed to offer £600 in full settlement.
"Bobel$": Agreed to offer £1,100

"Westerley": Agreed not necessarily to accept insured figure for Total Loss value, but to obtain further evidence as to date of purchase, condition etc.
"Kingfisher": Agreed to pay £70 in full and final settlement of all claims.
