A note about image and OCR quality

Dear Sir, 121 In reply to your letter of 7th August; we have pleasure in enclosing report received from Captain Clarke, Master of H.M.T. "Princess Maud", on the evacuation of Dunkirk. We have previously written to you in connection with the work performed by Captain W.H. Hughes of H.M.T. "Scotia". The "Princess Maud" sustained considerable damage through enemy action, and as you will note, lost four of her crew. It is regretted that Captain Clarke's report should be so late in coming to hand, but this is explained by the fact that he is a man of very retiring nature, and it was somewhat difficult to get him to tell us of the good work done by his ship. The devotion to duty of the Chief Engineer, Nunns, when the vessel was shelled in way of the engine room, leaving a hole, as the Captain describes "about a yard square", has impressed us very much, and we have pleasure in drawing your attention to this.
