We must risk that and err on the side of sending too many letters rather than too few, if we are to undertake the task at all.
The question of the award of a plaque to the ships is well worth considering, but before coming to a decision on that we must consult other Departments concerned. there are other questions to he acided, such as meddlo, might

The Minister has agreed the draft letter as modified, and I will have copies roneoed for signature and despatch to the persons on the attached list, but I should be glad if first you would confirm that a letter should go to the "Spinel". If a letter does go it will have to be differently phrased in any case, but according to the footnote she was ordered to
Dunkirk and took no part in the evacuation. It is not clear whether she ever got to Dunkirk. Did she run out of it, or was she sunk?
