Engine stopped just before dawn inside harbour. Nearly every boat had gone by then. So they got up sail and tried to get out of harbour. Several destroyers passed, they waved and destroyers waved back: one hour after dawn when they were just about giving up hopes & M.T.B. came. Towed them out, engine started, then they were alipped and after about 4 ailes the engine began to smoke and she caught fire. No one in sight and two M.T.B's came along to resume. Took them aboard.
