After passing the Ruytingen buoy saw
in 51° 06' 40" N., 2° 11' E. a mail
boat on fire and capsizing [it was the
P/V Scotial near another similar ship
which had sunk and whose super-
structure only was above water.
Near the wreck was an English
destroyer [the Esk] picking up sur-
vivors; the Branlebas also went to
the rescue.
