With regard to the boats named:-
of
HERON appears to have been taken for Dunkirk Evacuation. She
reached Bembridge, Isle of Wight, but was from there sent
back to Torquay, arriving 9.45 p.m. on 2nd June, 1940.
D. of S.T. has a record of a payment to the owner of £1.10.6 for 10 gals.
paraffin, 42 gals. petrol, and 2 gals. lubricating oil, but he has no knowledge
of any supplies by Morgan Giles Ltd.
GOLDEN WINGS, LEONID, and OTTAWA, appear to have been requisitioned for Auxiliary
Patrol on 5th June, 1940, when Morgan Giles Ltd., acted for the owners, but
D. of S.T. has no record of any of these craft having been taken for Dunitirk
Evacuation, nor of any supplies by Morgan Giles Ltd.
RESIDUE: D. of S.T. has no record of this craft.
METEOR, VALIANT and BRITANNIA appear to have been held from 15th to 19th Jun June
for Operation Aerial when Morgan Giles Ltd., acted for the owners, but
S.T. has no knowledge of any supplies by Morgan Giles Ltd.
