A note about image and OCR quality

SCIMITAR made 4 trips to the beaches and 1 to Dunkirk Pier during the period 28th May and 1st June, rescuing a total of 2,200 troops. On her 6th trip (to Dunkirk) she was recalled but rescued 500 troops from S.S. PRAGUE. The Commanding Officer stresses the skill and determination of the boats parties in trying conditions and under shell fire and aircraft attacks. Recommendations. OFFICERS: Lieutenant Robert Denys Franks, O.B.E., R.N. Handled his ship with skill and gallantry. Recommended for mention. Midshipman Malcolm John Ball, R.N.R. In charge of his ship's boats evacuating troops from Bray beach under air attack while the ship returned to Dover for one day. Recommended for decoration. RATINGS: Able Seaman G. Passmore, P/J.96339. For distinguished conduct in action in charge of 'A' guns crew and bringing down an enemy aircraft in flames. Recommended for decoration. Stoker F. Tyler, P/K.61614. For devotion to duty as driver of the motor boat often under fire and keeping his engine turning almost continuously for 3 days whilst evacuating troops from Bray beach. Recommended for decoration.
