Operation "DYNAMO" - Recommendations of Personnel.
H.M. Minesweeping Trawler - Skipper George William Aldan, R.N.R.
JOHN CATTLING.
(Decorated for this operation London
Gazette 7th June, 1940).
Besides enduring the worst air attacks of the whole operation and sharing the work of the other 5 Dover minesweeping trawlers, this vessel was detained for a further period in Dunkirk Harbour by the Piermaster to be subjected to prolonged air attacks, during which she carried out most useful work.
Recommendation.
The following rating was specially selected as having fire:- been conspicuous in devotion to duty under
Second Hand Charles Adams, L.Hs JX.173276.
Recommended for decoration.

SARGASSO made 3 successful round trips to
Dunkirk and the beaches, during the period of the worst enemy air activity, returning on each occasion with a full load of troops, and was of assistance to other ships working off the beaches.
