Operation "DYNAMO" - Recommendations of Personnel.
BEACH PARTIES, PIER PARTIES, CONTROL OF EVACUATION
OFF THE COAST AND IN DUNKIRK HARBOUR.
About 35 Naval Officers and 330 Naval ratings number worked unceasingly without relief or rest, exposed employed for varying periods on these duties. A great were to consistent air attacks, and periodical bombardments from artillery, for up to 7 days. The work of these
Officers and men was of the greatest value, and contributed largely to the success of the operation.
(of the above, 6 officers and 11 ratings were decorated in the London Gazette of 7th June, 1940 for this operation).
Recommendations.

Captain Eric Wheler Bush, D.S.C., R.N.
Acted as Senior Naval Officer (afloat) off the beaches until the arrival of Rear Admiral Wake-Walker, thereafter continued as assistant in control of sea traffic and distribution of evacuation craft.
Displayed exceptional energy, and devotion to duty under fire.
Commander Edward Reginald Lewis, R.N.
Commander Michael Oliver Dundas Ellwood (R.N. Retired).
Commander Hector du Plessis Richardson, R.N.
These Officers performed outstanding work under fire in charge of various sections of the beach organisation, working unceasingly for 5 days.
Displayed conspicuous devotion to duty.
Recommended for decoration.
