For outstanding zeal and devotion to duty representative of the Base Communications Staff.
Besides working her ordinary watch, she succeeded in operating the Teleprinter at the East Pier throughout the operation, by which means all casualties were reported to the Admiralty, thus saving congestion on telephone lines.

This wren is the Secretary's personal assistant and she remained on duty night after night with very little sleep, attending to typing, duplicating and issuing of operational and sailing orders besides, during the day, performing her ordinary routine duties. She had to be forcibly sent home in the early hours of several mornings.
