"KING ORRY" In forwarding the attached report by Commander a J. Elliott RD., R.N.R., Commanding Officer of H.M.S. "KING ORRY", I desire to bring to your notice that Commander Elliott landed here on 30th May, after his vessel had been sunk at Dunkirk. 2. He then expressed a desire to assist at this Base. After 24 hours stand-off he turned to on Pier duty on the East Pier, assisting in the handling of craft as they came alongside with troops. 3. When the hospital ship "PARIS" was damaged, he proceeded out in charge of the two tugs "SUN IV" and "SUN XV to render assistance. "PARIS" was found without crew and a line was put on board. Both tugs were subjected to machine gun fire. At about 0200 on 3rd June, the tow was abandoned and both tugs returned to this Base at 0600. 4. Commander Elliott has now been sent on leave p.m. 4th June - to his home address. VICE ADMIRAL 5- JUN T 1940 # CAPTAIN.
