During the aerial bombardment of the pier, and the subsequent bombing, beaching and burning of CRESTED EAGLE
off Dunkirk on 29th May, the following officers and men displayed great gallantry, devotion to duty and were n
conspicuous amongst a gallant ship's company.
Remaining steady at their posts when overtaken by disaster, their effort resulted in the rescue of a large number of survivors.
