A note about image and OCR quality

Every reasonable effort has been made to present these document images as flat, straight and accurately cropped as possible. Barracks, Chatham(No.0017 of 25th June to Military Branch) states that crews for Dutch coasters RION and JAVA (ex TINY) were sent to Portsmouth in accordance with telephoned instructions received from C.in C. Nore. Chatham's 1335/27 May states:- " Name of Name ofCommanding Name of Date of Ship Officer. 1st Lieut. Commissioning. ION Lt.Cdr.J.I. Mildor, Lieut. No date. R.N.R. R.H.W. Jackson, R.N.V.R. Chatham's 1015/28 May corrects his 1335/27 May:- "Last name Column I: For "TINY" read "JAVA"." A copy of a commissioning order for JAVA issued by C.in C. Port mouth has been received, dated 25th May, 1940, addressed to Lt.Cdr.J.M.D. Hunter, R.N., but it has not yet been confirmed that JAVA did commission at Portsmouth on 25th May.
