A note about image and OCR quality

Fowler, R.N.R., W.S.2651, H.M.S. "Wolves", reports that when on patrol two miles west of "I" Buoy at 0315 on 28th May 1940, an explosion was heard bearing west south west. "Wolves" continued west on her patrol and as cries were heard from the direction of this explosion, altered course towards it. Little could be seen, as dawn was just breaking, but four men who were clinging to wreckage were picked up. 3. "Wolves" searched the vicinity until approximately 0540, when search was Bandoned, and course was shaped for Dover on the orders of Commander R.W. English, R.N. (Ret.), Group Commander, 21st A/S Group. of five 4. other members of the crew were recovered, including In addition to the four survivors, the bodies that of Chief Skipper D.W.L. Simpson, D.S.C., D.S.M., R.N.R., W.S.2407, Commanding Officer of "Thuringia". 5.
