My course was South 10° West, and was as steady as yourng would allow. A bow-wave suddenly afreared on my starboard ow, and resolved itself into Q small washit, nationality nd class unknown due to the darkness, proceeding on course almost exactly offosite to my own. For no pharent reason he suddenly altered course and nan but across how. I stopped engines and then went artern, had my efore 9 could take the way off my shit the waishit himself beam on actors my bows and, hit him mad wring eneath the bridge. After the collision the washin Hand disappeared. X.208 sustained shght her damag it the bows of the shif but wasable to carry on work, minus the ships boat, which was smashed by our screws as event astem.
