A note about image and OCR quality

Left Portsmouth mid-night Wednesday 29th for Ramsgate. Arrived over 10.0 p.m. Thursday. Anchored in Downs, weighing anchor .0 a.m. Friday 31st we proceeded to Ramsgate, arriwing at 9.0 a.m. ived orders to proceed to Dunkirk to embark troops. Left gate at 9.40 a.m. arriving at Dunkirk at 1.0 p.m. Berther alongof damaged pier to collect what troops were available, by 5.0 p.m. all hands assisting, took on board 400 troops, officers and men, gst whom were six wounded "Walking Cases". During this period incountered a little difficulty owing to fast passing vessels ing swell and parting mooring wires 3 in No. rendering useless it 100 Fms. of 22" wire. We also encountered two Air Raids, but lamage, and left with our passengers at 5.0 p.m. While steaming the Harbour Channel we encountered another Air Raid. Thanks ur Royal Navy and gallant Air Force, the Raider, which appeared st overhead, was brought down by gunfire and plunged into the between us and the beach. We arrived at Ramsgate pier at 9.5.p.m. mbarking our troops in 15 minutes. Requiring drinking water and fuel, we were supplied with 40 in No.Petrol cans of water, and roceeded to Margate arriving off Margate at 11.50 p.m. Anchored red to proceed to Margate for fuel. Leaving pier at 9.40 p.m. 1 4.30 a.m. Saturday 1/6. Proceeded alongside H.M.S. "Guillemot", taking in 10 tons of oil fuel. At 7.55 we returned to Ramagate any of H.B.95 to our home port, arriving at St.Helens Roads at orders arriving at 9.25. We were then ordered to proceed in 0 p.m. Ordered to anchor until daylight at 4.30 a.m. Sunday eighed getting permission from Examination officer, St.Enooh we eeded to anchor, enter Harbour at 6.0 a.m. Mooring alongaide .0 a.m. and landing at Asia Pontoon at 8.30.
