May 29th 1940.
During the aerial attack on this Vessel, mentioned in above report, J. Fowles, A.B. showed great courage in climbing of the down ladder to assist & British Airman who had baled out his & rope He was wounded by machine gun bullets and shrapnel, assumed plane. mortally wounded and lost, but was later saved by another vessel.
