30th May, 1940.
On ship leaving I collected remainder of ship's boats -
3 whalers, 1 skiff (latter in tow) - and followed ship, thinking she would stop.
Gave up when off NIEUPORT?? where the Salanider was seen. Proceeded to Salanider and asked for instructions, which were to report to paddle minesweeper.
Worked between paddle minesweepers and shore all during a violent air-raid.
1 whaler sunk - apparently by leakage caused by blast and shrapnel.
1 whaler over-turned - no blame on part of boatkseper -
soldiers very panicky and said to cause capsise.
1 whaler sunk later - apparently due to same cause as in para. 4.
A.Bs Grimes and Moore proceeded in the skiff to NPI 1??
and assisted with embarkation of troops.
A.Bs Post and Lever made their way to paddle minesweeper and were landed at Margate.
