Embarked 1000 troops and proceeded. 0600 Secured at Admiralty Pier. Disembarked soldiers. 0643 Slipped and, after considerable search for oil berth secured alongside Eastern Arm and embarked oil fuel. 1135 slipped. 1430 Arrived Dunkirk and secured Eastern Pier. Embarked approximately 1000 soldiers. Spoke "Wercester who was outside lying off. Entrance was obscured by clouds of black smoke. At this time the Engineer Officer informed me that he had used up the water in reserve feed tank and had run down one boiler and anticipated being able to steam for another 2 hours approximately. 0315 Entered. Secured alongside Eastern Pier which was crowded with soldiers and no other ships alongside. Embarked approx- imately 1000 soldiers. Soon after this other destroyers and transports entered.
