Visibility at this time and place was about 50 yards. 0309 Arrived off Dunkirk Pier. Spoke "Norcestor who was outside lying off. Entrance was obscured by clouds of black smke. At this time the Engineer Officer informed - that he had used up the water in reserve feed tank and had run down one boiler and anticipated being able to steam for another 20 hours approximately. 0315 Entered. secured alongside Eastern Pier which was crowded with soldiers and DD other ships alongside.
