Sir, with reference to your B14/0/1101/40, para. 8. I have the honour to submit the following names:-
Sub-Lieutenant David A.Shaw. R.N.
Displayed great courage and coolness under fire whilst acting as Navigating Officer of H.M.S. "Pitaroy" during the operations off Dunkirk.
On 2nd. June, when H.K.S. "Pitzroy" was unable to go to sea he proceeded as 8 volunteer in H.N.S. "Halcyon" to Dunkirk where he gave great assistance.
Midshipman Ian K.Bryce, R.N.R.
Worked throughout the operation with excellent spirit and courage, directing embarkation from the beaches, frequently almost totally immersed in the surf, assisting the troops into the boats throughout three nights.
On 2nd. June he proceeded in H.N.S. "winchelsea" to Dunkirk as & volunteer, where he again did very useful work.
Sig. D. Minter, C/JX 155114.
Landed on the beach near Dunkirk on four occaisions and maintained efficient V/S touch with H.M.S. "Fitsroy" during such time that that troops were being embarked, thus greatly assisting the operation.
On the night of 2nd June proceeded to Dunkirk as a volunteer in H.M.S. "Winchelsea".
