A note about image and OCR quality

It was during the same day that I was informed that the Tristram look gates had been 80 badly damaged that they would have to be removed and the port would have perforce to become tidal. In view of this added difficulty the Amiral du Nord (Admiral Abrial) appointed a port commissio consisting of:- French representatives Captain Chicu (?)
