Officers and 706. other ranks, of whom 40 or 50 are rit believed to be missing. There was a big swell, not much sea, a moderate breeze, good visibility but overcast. The ship immediately settled aft, but th remained upright during the launching of all to serviceable life boats and rafts. The ship sank in about 1 hour 50 minutes.

S.S. ABUKIR This ship was on voyage from Ostend to the Downs with troops, air force pilots, personnel and refugees. She was torpedoed about 5 miles due
E. of the W. Hinder Light Ship at 0115 B.S.T. on
28th May. I understand that there were 14 saved out of 250.
S.S. GRACIE FIELDS. I have no information in regard to this ship.
WAVERLEY. I have no information in regard to this ship.
CHOBRY (Polish) This ship was attacked by aircraft and set on fire on 16th May. I have no further information about this ship.
HYPERION I have no information about this ship.
