Paris", wore anchored in the Downs during the night of 1/2 June and both rero ordered to proceed to Dunicisk on 2nd June, 1940.
The Hospital Carrier "worthing" uniled at 1,305 hours but at
1445 hours wirelessed that the had been bombed and mohine-gurmed in mid i
Charmel but VIELS not disabled and was returning at full speed. This vessel reached never safely having oustained no casualties.
At 1700 hours on 2nd June, 1940, the Hospital rrier "Paris"
sailed for Dunkirk and was attacked by ensuy aircraft on two occasions, at 1900 hours and 1945 hours. After the second attack 1t WILD decided to o
abandon the vessel. All on heard were got away safely, though BOWD were voursied, and the only fatal casualty was a member of the areas (ship's boy - Boy Patchum, aged 16 years) who died 20 hours after leaving the vessel. The reminder of the ship's ore and all medical personnel on board reached at 0315 hours on 3rd June, 1940.

Only one Hospital Carrier sailed from Dunkirk on 1st June, 1940, i.e. the Hospital Carrier "St. Andrew" and this vessel arrived safely at our
Newhaven with all hands, medical personnel and 122 casualties evacuated from the B.E.F. Two other Hospital Carriers, the "Worthing" and the nti
