Dear Moore,
I am endeavouring to callect evidence regarding (1) the bombing of the two vessels S.S. "Express of Britain" and S.S. "Queen of the Channel" and (2) the loss of S.S. "Ansoln" in order that I
may be in a position to doal with the quostion of the prestmption of death of the personnel who are still rissing. I shall be grateful thorefore if you will furnish information on the following points:-
"Empress of Britain"
Nature of casualty (apparently the ship WEB bonbed on 26.10.40.
Kindly confirm.)
Time and place or occurrence.

Was the vessel sunt: or and 1t procosd to port unaided.
If sunk, how long 10 took in sinking and what ships, if any, took part in resoue work.
Whether all lifeboats were accounted for.

Dear Mensies,
I on dealing with the question or presumption of death of the cosualties crising out of (1) the bombing of the two vessele S.S. "Empress of Britein"
and S.S. "Queen of the Channel", and (2) the loss of the
S.S. "Aneelm". At present the only information in my possession 1a as follows: -

"Impreas of Britain."
Bombed 26.10.40 and the survivors landed at
Belfast and Gourook.
"Cusen of the Channel"

Bombed and sunk 28.5.40 during the evacuation from Dunkirk. Troops and crew all transferred to
"Dorien Rose".
"Anselm". The only information I have 10 a list of survivors. A copy of the embarkation roll will be of great assistance.
If you can furnish me with copies of the official reports dealing with the casualties to the above three vessels I shall be grateful.
