A note about image and OCR quality

Dear Sir,,Julian, I have now been informed that the Inquiry by the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company into the conduct of certain masters in connection with the Dunkirk evacuation has resulted in the suspension of one particular Captain - and I think this decision will apply to others affected - being removed from the 30th November next, and 80 I hardly think 1t necessary for the Minister, or officials of the Ministry, to take any further steps in the matter. Personally I feel very strongly that the punishment hardly fitted the alleged crime, bearing in mind that these officers did quite a useful job of work at Dunkirk before breaking down, and have been under a stigma ever since and off pay. It seems more than likely that the Company were not quite sure of procedure in dealing with an unusual development of this character, and if it had not been for the intervention of a third party, viz. this Association, I am tempted to suggest that the officers concerned may not have received any hearing at all.
