A note about image and OCR quality

Every reasonable effort has been made to present these document images as flat, straight and accurately cropped as possible. Yarmouth, to visit the tug "Playfair One". In the cabin the crew proudly showed me a letter received from the Minister of Shipping in appreciation of their services at Dunkerque, framed and hung up. "Were such letters of appreciation issued to fishing vessel, and if not might it not be desirable to recognise their services in this way?" The answer is that so far as we are concerned no such letters have been issued and that this is, in fact, the first we have heard of any such issue. It seems a little late in the day to consider the point now but I should be grateful if you would kindly let me know what action has been taken by your Department and perhaps let me have a copy of the stock letter which has no doubt been employed. Could you also say to what classes of vessel the letter was issued. If this is outside your province, would you be kind enough to pass on the enquiry to whoever may be concerned.
