This Sir, is what condined abs St Margarets letter of Thanks was 110 Bexley Road 70
each Master He hystotowing to me being on my Evith Kent
1940.
I Sir been unable to obtain my letter which transferred from the % Sun XV to 06/8/40
is I James Francis Beltonlum XV which versel hawas Master of the 5/y Sun IV and at a moments hanotice I was asked to take charge of the 5/y Sun XV
Liwhich I did and the s/y Sun XV left Tilbury with talifeboats in tow for Ramsgate on 30rd May.
The 5/y Sun XV then took a part in the evacuation of the B.E.F from Dunkisk 3 Trips were made or on each of the return journeys although loaded with troops I stopped my tug and took in tow at the risk of being bombed & machinegunned, 2 Trawlers and 2 Government Lighters also crowded with troops and each time brought them safely back to Ramsgate. But Sir as for as I am concerned that was just a job of work, and I am pleased ild to he able to think that I was able to be of some service to my country.
