May 28th. 1700. Orders to proceed were received and a departure time and of 1830 was fixed. In accordance with these orders the ship weighed proceeded in company with "MANXMAN" and Hospital Ship "PARIS" via ted route "Y". The weather was drizzly and misty, the visibility a
shortening as the coast of France was approached. The draught of the

ship was something over 16 feet and in view of the meagre information e
about the Zuidcoote Pass which was procurable from the small scale n
chart, it was decided to allow the other two ships, both of considerably
