I remained second in Command. The movements of Abel Tasman have been reported
by the Commanding Officer.

Kaap Falga. ailed Sunday 26th. May 16.00 from Southampton for Dover for
orders. Monday 27th. May 16.00 arrived Dover Roads At 19.00 was ordered to
proceed to Downs for a route to La. Panne. 08.00 Tuesday 28th. Arrived at La
Panne and anchored near Abel Tasman who was beached broadside on and unloading
ammunition. Ce started unloading our Deck Cargo and landed part of it in
Ships boats. At 13.00 I went ashore with Lieut. Slater, Commanding H.M.S. Alice
to see the authorities ashore about what they wanted done. We met Lieut. Coodr and
Crick commending H.M.S. Abel Tasman who told us he was evacuating troops the
