A note about image and OCR quality

Every reasonable effort has been made to present these document images as flat, straight and accurately cropped as possible. Ambrose, a/E.R.A. 4th class (number not Known), who did excellent work in the Engine Room during and after the attacks in Keeping the engines going and in repairing the gearbox, especially QO this is his first ship. we disembared at Ramogate at about 0830 on May 30ᵗʰ; after which we anchored outside the harbour to have temporary repairs made. on completion of operation Dynamo we ordered to Poole to pay off but the engines were bloke down off Newhaven. we were towed into 14th the harbour to be repaired and at 2000 on June we Sailed for Saint Malo under orders from Commander-vi-Chief Porkmouth.
