RATING
Petty Officer Francis Herbert Franklin, P/J.96765.
Acted as coxswain of ZEUS, which carried out 2
successful round trips. Ship was not well found a great deal of useful work was carried out by this
Petty Officer in preparing the vessel. He personally helped on board every soldier embarked (more than 700).
He was cool and cheerful under fire, setting a good example to the younger members of the crew.
Recommended for mention.
