Showed courage and gallantry without any regard to his own safety, having been wounded, thus enabling the ship to get alongside without further damage. This officer refused to give up after he had been wounded and carried on, although obviously in pain. Recommended for decoration. TYNWAID as W. Qualtrough, Master. May 27th - June 1st. J. H. Whiteway, Master. June 2nd - June 4th. Ship did five trips. After the third trip, crew were demoralised, but fifteen hands remained. A new Captain was provided and naval officer and ratings put on as stiffeners. Whilst in Dunkirk the ship was continuously under fire, both from guns and from planes. Recommendations.
