A note about image and OCR quality

Every reasonable effort has been made to present these document images as flat, straight and accurately cropped as possible. The name of Mr. Pembry (who was temporarily in our employment and has now left) was apparently submitted by the Ministry of Shipping without consultation with this Company. However, as both Messrs. Le Huguet and Pembry rendered good services on the "Isle of Guernsey" during the evacuation, the position might be met by allowing the award of a Mention in Despatches to Mr. Pembry announced in the London Gazette on the 16th August, 1940, to stand, and granting a similar honour to Mr. Le Huguet.
