At 1000 an attempt was made to start the auxiliary motor, to pump up pressure for starting the main engine, but owing to a choked fuel pipe, and valve trouble, it was not possible to start before 2100. This left ORANJE out of action the whole day. 17. Tuesday June 4th. ORANJE remained at snchor off Margate, sailing at 1800 for Southend in company with two other scoots.
