This Officer was in Command of a Lifeboat embarking troops of the B.E.F. off Dunkirk on the night of theist-2nd June.
Whilst coming alongside the Niger,a shell from a shore battery exploded near, and he was struck by shrapnel, sustaining chest wounde from which he died within 15 minutes.
