Attendant whaler manned by two stokers and civilian was occupied in going inshore to load up with troops, then taking them out to waiting vessels. 1045 Starboard propeler fouled by rope net alongaide destroyer while disembarking troops. Further operations impossible. Note:- During the above operations the "Cordelia # was working with "port engine only - which, owing to being overworked, seized up. Estimated that 300 troops were carried by "Cordelia" and whaler from the beach. 1100 Taken in tow by the G.R.1740 (drifter) and proceeded towards Dover. 1130) Shelled by shore 2030 Entered Dover Harbour and tied up at Prince of 1145) batteries.
