Several destroyers passed, they waved and destroyers waved back: one hour after dawn when they were just about giving up hopes & M.T.B. came. Towed them out, engine started, then they were alipped and after about 4 miles the engine began to smoke and she caught fire. No one in sight and two M.T.B's came along to resque. Took them aboard.
