On one occasion he was subjected to intense machine gun and dive bombing attacks during daylight hours whilst saving the lives of British soldiers off La Panne. Lieutenant Eyre of M.A.S.B. 10 also showed himself to be a level headed and gallant Officer and quite untiring.
