A note about image and OCR quality

Every reasonable effort has been made to present these document images as flat, straight and accurately cropped as possible. At about 1600 on 2nd June, in the vicinity of "T" buoy BLACKBURN ROVERS was hit by a torpedo, or struck a mine, and sank instantly (videreport on WESTELLA No. 23/22 A.B/40 of 17th September, 1940). 11116G 3. Commander R.W. English, R.N. who was in BLACKBURN ROVERS, and was severely wounded, has informed me by letter - - whilst on sick leave - that, although he is now well enough to be interviewed, his recollection of the event is not very clear. It has not, up to the present, been possible to see Skipper W. Martin, R.N.R. who was in command of the ship. 4. In view of the very clear account given to me by Chief Skipper Grove, R.N.R. of WESTELLA who witnessed the sinking of BLACKBURN ROVERS, and on board whose ship Commander English and Skipper Martin were taken, I do not consider that there is anything to be gained by interviewing either of these Officers.
