SEIRIOL" a small passenger steamer belonging to the Liverpool and North Wales Steamship Co. Ltd. The Minister of Shipping, in his broadcast about the Dunkirk evacuation, specially mentioned the Chief Officer of this vessel who made two trips in the "ST. SEIRIOL" to Dunkirk and spent the whole of one night in a Lifeboat picking up survivors from another ship which had been sunk. He and his boat's crew rescued 150 men. In consequence of his efforts he became partially paralyzed in the legs and could take no further action in the evacuation.
