M.S. GREYHOUND - Commander Walter Roger Marshall-A R.N.
GREYHOUND made 3 trips, 2 to the beaches and 1 to
Dunkirk pier, landing about 1,200 men in England, apart
from wounded. On the 3rd trip, whilst embarking troops
from La Panne beach, an attack was made by bombers and
2 near misses damaged the engine room and No.3 boiler
room, splinters killing 20 and wounding 70.
GREYHOUND withdrew to Dover to land the wounded,
leaving her boats to continue ferrying troops from
shore to ship, often under fire and bombing.

his boiler room.
